Question

Select a subject doesn't work anymore

As you can see on the screenshot, Select Subject doesn't work anymore while it was a few days ago. I have the new Apple Silicon M1 Macbook Pro, but the first uses were working properly...

What can it be?

Thanks,

Nils

HI there,

It's working. But you can't expect to always get a perfect selection. Especially when the colors are very similar.

So if you used "Select Subject" from the options bar above, you can try using the Select Subject tool in the tools palette to help it by creating a selection around the image.

But its always good to learn more tools... so you can use Select Subject, to quickly select, and if not perfect you can use the quick-selection tool to add (shift) or subtract (option), from your selections. Or you can try using the magic wand to select add or subtract parts of your selection, or in the options bar you can use "Select and Mask..." to help remove the background. And from there, if you selected "Output to layer mask" at the bottom you could use your brushes to do further enhancements or touch-ups. NO two photos are the same, so soemtimes you may have to take a longer path, or use different tools.

Hope this helps.

cheers,

mark
