Select and Mask Freezing on Mac - Catalina 10.15.7 Photoshop 22.0

Mac Specs: 

PS Build:  22.0

 

When i got to select and mask, then continue to use to cut out and clean image, it freezes and will not let me move or selct any other tools. I got to save and revert to orginal PS screen and the mask stays on screen. I have to save, shut down that .psd and

reopen it. This continues to happen at least 4-5 times an hour, any fixes?

 

I have included a screen shoit with the mask still active with PS standard brush tools on the right, not in select and mask mode.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

 

The other thing that might help is a process sample when Photoshop is in the frozen state. Instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/how-to-get-a-process-sample-or-spindump.html

Can you set Drawing Mode to Advanced make sure everything is checked in the Advanced Settings dialog? Restart PS and let me know if you're still having trouble.

    Hi there,

    That doesn't seem like a typical select & mask behavior. Could you please try deselecting "Use Graphics Processor" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

    If that doesn't help, try resetting the preferences of Photoshop to default and see how it goes. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

     

    Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

     

    Does it happen with all documents or just this file?

    Sorry did not see, it happens with mutliple files also.
