Select and mask tool freezes

Since the latest update (CC2020), every time I attempt to use "Select and Mask" it freezes and I have to use "End Task" to close Photoshop. This never happened before - any ideas? Anyone? Please? This is one of my most used tools, so I really need a fix. Absolutely bloody hopeless trying to contact an actual human at Adobe.....

Select and Mask is executed by OpenCL code in the GPU. Try to update your video driver from the vendor's site.

When I choose the font, Photoshop 2020 freezes. It worked until CC 2019 (with Missing Glyphes checked).

Adobe, please FIX this...!

Text layers are vector layers and there are also text masking tools what does selecting a font have the do with select and masking of a raster image. I do no see any interface to font selection in the select and mask workspace?
