"Select and Mask..." unusable in Photoshop CC 2017

We recently upgraded to CC2017 and a couple of our actions would just freeze up Photoshop and we would have to force quit.  We didn't know what the issue was until I was playing around with things today.  Apparently it is the Select and Mask... function that is freezing up the application.  When I make any adjustment layer, add a mask and go to Select and Mask... to modify the mask that dialogue window is pretty much unusable.  Clicking in the different modifiers either doesn't select the number or takes a few clicks to make any changes.  The last time I tried using this function it froze the application and I needed to force quit it.

Seeing this I took the Select and Mask step out of our previously non-functioning actions and those actions are now working again.  Hoping someone has a solution for getting Select and Mask to work again as it helps give us a nice mask edge for our production work.

Computer specs:

Mac OS Sierra and El Capitan

Photoshop CC 2017

After a little more research it appears to specifically be the "Use OpenCL" option within the GPU Advanced options.  Turning this off seems tow fix the issue but leaves the other GPU acceleration functional.

The post I made on the other page:

It totally appears to be the graphics processor causing the issue.  I did as you mentioned above and Shift-clicked on "Select and Mask..." in the Select menu and it brought up the old version without issue.  So I then went into Preferences > Performance and turned off the Use Graphics Processor option.  The new Select and Mask worked fine after that change.

So, it appears that Photoshop doesn't like this processor configuration?  Would prefer to have it work with GPU acceleration.

This is what I'm using:

MacBook Pro (mid-2015)

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048MB

16GB RAM

1 - 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display

1 - 23" Apple Cinema HD Display

Just discovered this similar question: Photoshop 2017 "Select and Mask Issue"

Search on the Adobe Forums didn't pull this up.  A search on Google of the same terms found it for me.
