Select Color Range... seems to hang Photoshop 22.0.0

Hello. For the developers, Select Colour Range... is failing in PS 22.0.0 on a Mac Pro Catalina 10.15.7.

It seems to work when I pick the first colour and then change to the "add" colour picker. Where the problem occurs is when I go to the sliders (Fuzziness or Range). If I try to slide the fuzziness, everything stops, as in, nothing I do will allow me back into the image and I must force quit the app and restart the image. I can duplicate this error every time and now I cannot use the Select Colour Range... command anymore.

Another issue I noticed is that it takes five minutes to save a 1Gb PSD to an 8Tb SSD/PCI with 4Tb of free space. I timed the Mac spinning ball of death for that long before the image finally closed and Ps quit.

I know that there is always a period of oopsy before the next version corrects the most egregious problems, I will keep an eye out for the next update and maybe the Select Colour Range will work again.

Thank you and have a great day, Rick.

This is happening to me too! I was on Photoshop version 22.1 and had to downgrade due to the program error saving issue. Now, in 22.0.1, I've had to force quit Photoshop several times today. The Color Range dialog box keeps getting stuck. If I add to the selection, it's fine. BUT, if I try to move the fuzziness slider, it freezes and won't let me do anything. The weird thing is, I can move the dialog box around, so the program itself isn't "not responding". Please help!

The workaround of inputting a number value and not touching the slider is very awkward. I have to be very careful to remember to save work before moving to color range since I might accidently move the slider and then freeze the whole thing.

I will be sure to not upgrade the next time because I really hate having my workflow destroyed.

Same freeze-up problem here with Color Range and the sliders...really annoying. I thought it might be a RAM/Paging file insufficiency. Currently using PS 2021 and MacOS 11.1 (Big Sur)

Hi Guys, it's happenning to me, and I can't wait for the problem to be fixed, however before you despair and force quit, Like many other PhotoShop freezes, patience will see your selection unfreeze and you can save your work in porgress. It may take quite afew minutes, but be patient. I seem to find playing with the slider and pressing okay will help it along. After the software recovers it flies through the random adjustments and usually ends with a selection that is useless, however it DOES come back to life.... Patience will pay off for saving your work, however the "problem" is very real and it is an agony...

Same issue with Select Color Range. MacOS 10.14.6 | PS 2021 v22.1

Same issue for me! I can replicate the error with 100% success every time.

Choosing Select -> Color Range -> from here I can do any number of steps until dragging either of the Range or Fuzziness sliders, at which point the entire application ceases to respond from any user input.

Important to note it's not freezing the application as I can still drag windows around and the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons still react to a hovering mouse, but clicking them does nothing. The only option is to force quit PS from the dock (the top toolbar is also frozen)

MacOS Catalina - 10.15.7

PS Version - 22.0.1

Same here. Seems to hang when I adjust the fuzziness. On MAC OS 10.15.7.

Restarted 3 times, same thing every time,
