I have an Image with text on it, and I want to select just the text.

The text is solid color and different from the rest of the image.

How do I select the whole text?

1.Magic Wand using low tolerance and selecting Contagious colors.

    2. Select Color Range and Select the correct Color and select Localized Color Cluster

    3. Image: Adjustment: Selective Colors

Based on these techniques you can a chive a good selection.

    Hope this helps

Hi Chana! LOL. We both misspelled contiguous! I like your spelling best.

    Selecting an Exact color

Are you asking how to select a color being used by existing text to use eleswhere? The answer: click on the text with the Eyedropper tool

I want to select just the text.

Are you asking how to select text to edit it? The answer: it must be on its own editable Type layer. Click on it with the Type tool.

Or is the text embedded in the image and you are trying to select it for an unspecified reason? Use the Magic Wand but turn off Continugous Contiguous Colors since the letters may not all touch each other.

We can help, but details on workflow and and screen shots remove the guesswork.
