Selecting Neural Filters from the menu instantly unloads Photoshop 24.4.1.449

When I select Neural Filters from the menu in Photoshop 24.4.1.449, Photoshop instantly unloads.
It doesn't crash in a way that gives an error message, it just unloads itself.

There is a fix to that problem however, if I run Photoshop as an administrator then it's fine.

I'm using Windows 10 and I have Photoshop installed on a different drive than the system drive.

I used Microsoft's Process Monitor to see if there was any clue as to what Photoshop was doing before unloading, but it didn't really show anything unusal. In fact it just showed that Photoshop unloaded in a normal way.

OK how about this for a solution then. Photoshop checks if it has administrator access and if it doesn't, it warns the user that some features will not work because it's not running with elevated permissions. It could then let the user know how to make it run with administrator privileges.

... or ... if people aren't happy with that, then it could just randomly close and leave the user trying to guess why it isn't working.

@Adam Mark Johnson applications cannot overwrite Windows user profile settings.

If that's true then the installer should set it up that way, it shouldn't be up to the user to randomly have to find that out.

@Adam Mark Johnson Photoshop needs to run as an administrator. Change your user account accordingly.

Hi @Adam Mark Johnson it is reccomneded that Ps run on the same drive as your OS. How long have you had this configuration with Ps and is this the first time you have seen this?

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Hi, I would try to restore your preferences to the default using this manual method:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

it lets you keep a copy on the desktop that you can use to revert the process if it does not cure your issue.

See also this page with info on how to reset the filters: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/neural-filters-list-and-faq.html#faq
