Selection tool causing Photoshop 2022 to lock up

Question

I have been having an issue with the selection tools causing Photoshop to lock up.

Does anyone out there happen to know how to fix this? There doesn't seem to be any other issues going on outside of that, and none of the other issues related to PS freezing up have helped with this one.

hi this sounds weird. When things are not working as they should I usually reset the preferences.

So either Edit>Preferences (or Photoshop>Preferences on Mac) > General

under General on bottom right you can click "Reset Preferences on Quit".

Or quit and restart holding Control+Alt+Shift (Command+Option+Shift on Mac) to reset the settings.
