Several problems including brush lag with new Wacom Tablet / Windows Ink / Photoshop
Hello everyone,
The reason I've included Wacom / Windows Ink & Photoshop in the title is because I've tried every possible solution I could find through Google and nothing has really worked. I'm getting sick and tired of this issue, why is it so hard for 3 of the biggest Tech Companies in the creative industry to get their products to work properly in unison.
I recently bought a new Wacom Tablet (Intuos Pro M) but the probably was already there on the previous one I owned. From previous versions of Photoshop I know that the severe brush lag when using a Wacom Tablet has not always been there.
In order to use my Wacom Tablet with pressure sensitivity in Adobe Photoshop I disabled Windows Ink through the Wacom Drives. After doing this I was left with no pressure sensitivity in Photoshop.
I then googled this issue and applied the PSUserConfig trick which includes:
# Use WinTab
UseSystemStylus 0
Pressure Sensitivity wise this seems to do the trick, however I'm now left with an insane lag which makes it impossible to use my Wacom Tablet.
I noticed that when leaving Use Windows Ink applied through the Wacom Tablet and not adding the PSUserConfig file to my AppData folder there is no lag + pressure sensitivity seems to work without lag BUT, and this is a major negative:
I end up constantly getting insanely annoying popups when I press Shift/Ctrl etc.
So my options currently are:
- No pressure sensitivity and no lag when disabling Windows Ink and not adding the PSUserConfig file.
- Pressure sensitivty with lag when disableing Windows Ink but adding the PSUserConfig file.
- Pressure sensitivity without lag when enabling Windows Ink and not adding the PSUserConfig file. However in this case I always have these really annoying popups whenever I click shift/ctrl etc.
I mean what the ****, why does it seem impossible for these 3 companies to get their *** together and fix these annoying issues. I've noticed when trying to fix it myself that I'm one of thousands who have these issues.
FIX THEM!
