shadow styles in photoshop cc 2024

my shadow styles worked very well since some years and now they're not working properly, the shadows are not at the right place.
how to fix that?
I had Photoshop 25.2 and I just upgraded 25.3, thinking it will be better but nothing.
Thank you for some help.

Please post an example of the Drop Shadow on an actual image so we can see what your referring to.

Can you post example shadow with Layer Style > Drop Shadow tab visible and explain us what is 'wrong' with shadow? Screenshot similar to one posted by @Jeff Arola

In the Layer Styles dialog Drop Shadow settings see if clicking Reset to Default makes any difference
