I have several psd documents, now I want them share a same background layer, and the background will be modified constantly, is it possible let these documents share one or more layers,so if the shared layer modified in one document, all the other document will see the modification,is it possible?

Linked Smart Objects will update if the containing document are open at the time they are saved, otherwise one may have to open the containing document and update it (Layer > Smart Objects > Update Modified Content).

If I'am right, the process is,create a seperate background psd file, then link this file to others use this background,so when the background psd file is modified and saved, the other file will see the change. This meets my needs, thanks.
