Simple photoshop actions/droplet issue

I'm having an issue with some very simple action commands. I'm trying to select a path, invert selection, cut the pixels from the background then save.

If I run the action from the actions dialog box it works but when I run the image through the droplet it gives me the The command “Cut” is not currently available message. In fact it gives me an error on multiple other commands – "could not save colour profile" for instance.

I've never had an issue with this action in the past. Currently running PS 21.1.3 on High Sierra 10.13.6

Thanks
Joe

Can you post a cropped screenshot of the action panel with all action steps expanded? Is the file being processed flattened or layered? If you remove the save step, you could also try using the Image Processor script supplied with Photoshop, or the more capable 3rd party Image Processor Pro script, both of which can batch process and use an action.

It's a flattened file I'm working on with no masks or additional channels. 8-bit RGB images. Image processor returns the same command error.

I've created and been successful with this action and more complex ones hundreds of times in the past – I just wondered if something in Ps 20 has changed? thanks

What happens if you set-up the File > Automate > Batch command using similar settings to the droplet?

Nope same issue.
