Since today's update, the healing brush tool no longer functions due to "a Program Error"

Since the update today to Photoshop 22.1.0, the healing brush no longer functions due to an undefined "program error." The spot heal and patch tools still work normally, but the normal healing brush is completely unusable. It worked fine before the update.

System specs:

Windows 10 Build 19042
X570 Wi-Fi motherboard
Radeon RX 3700 GPU
64 GB 3200 Mhz DDR4 RAM

Dedicated app/scratch disk drive:

- 1 TB M.2 SSD

I have the same issue; Windows 10 pro latest version, and the healing brush sometimes generates the "program error". It seems to be related to specific places in the image; some places it works, others it does not. There is clearly an issue here; can Adobe comment/suggest a fix?

i have the same issue on macOS Big Sur

After using the healing brush for about 5 minutes, suddenly get the "Program Error". Tried restarting, deleting preferences, turing off GRU, etc, etc. Same problem with all 3 computers -- 2 desktops and a laptop. It only started after updating to PS 22.1. on Macs running OS Catalina 10.15.7.
