since update to PS 26: "beach ball" stall / hangtime, when saving files

hi

since update from adobe photoshop (ps) version 25 to 26, i can notice a spinning beach ball with a stall of 5minutes, when saving large documents (50-200GB filesize). i didnt have this issue before. it was saving those huge files like butter! didnt change any system / setting on my mac studio m2 ultra.

so i rolled back to PS v25.12.0. but the beach ball stall even stayed with that version.

i dont have to quit PS, i just wait 3-10minutes, average 5min, and it keeps working fine!

i am thinking about re-updating to v26, though.

any user having same trouble? i can live with it, though its kind of annoying, as i it hasnt been there before at all.

thanks

Correct answer pets

never mind.

osx 14.7

didnt reset prefs, though i reduced the ram usage in PS from 85% to 80%. (128GB alltogether, mac studio m2 ultra)

this solved my issue, its completely gone now! thank you

( i usually had 85% setting or 90% ram usage, as it was working fine the last years. with the new PS update its not working anymore) my computers have at least 64 GB RAM or 128 GB.

thanks

Hi, we're sorry about the trouble! Would you mind telling us the macOS version you're working on?

You can start by checking if Photoshop has been added to Full disk access for macOS. You can check the steps here: https://adobe.ly/3CpDXP1

If the issue persists, try to reset the preferences of Photoshop manually using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/3YE19kf

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/3YDB1FU

Let us know if this helps!

Thanks,
Nikunj
