Since updating PhotoShop to v.22.1 on mac oS Big Sur, most of my jpgs will not open in any app.

Since updating PhotoShop to v.22.1 on mac oS Big Sur, most of my 100s of .jpgs will not open.

Error message: "Cannot open xyz.jpg due to a disk error."

Coincidentally, this is the first time that Photoshop kept the old v.21.2.4 as well as the new v. 22.1.

Also, when I try to open in Preview, the error message is "The file 'xyz.jpg' cannot be opened".
