Smooth path connections, how do I create them?

I am working in Photoshop CC, and I would like to create complex images with the Pen Tool that require separate paths to join together smoothly. To demonstrate, I have attached 3 images: #1 shows my attempt to align two paths freehand and by eyeballing it, and as can be seen in #2, when looked at closely, the alignment is imperfect. #3 shows that when the paths are stroked this misalignment is visible in the form of a slight bump in the path. Is there a way I can perfectly align paths without them needing to perfectly intersect a grid line?

Thank you

Long and short: You are using the wrong tool. If perfect alignment is required, you have to use Illustrator where  such snapping features exist and additional plug-ins to that effect can be bought e.g. in order to get perfect tangential alignment and/ or copying a anchor point handle's parameters. Other than that you can always try to work at higher resolutions and then downsize to disquise any tiny inaccuracies further.
