Soft image preview in CS6 on 4k monitor - no solution?

Windows 10 Pro x64

I have just begun using a BenQ 4k monitor.

While the fix described here sorted my tiny Photoshop (and Bridge) User Interface issue - well, text and icons are still small, but I can live with it - what I don't like is that images opened in CS6 appear even softer than on my old HD monitor.

Is there really no fix for this problem? (Images are razor sharp on my RAW file processing software, Capture One)

If there is no fix for this problem on CS6, will I get sharp images on my 4k monitor if I upgrade to Photoshop CS?

Thanks.

Denis

CS6 doesn't support 4K. It's a simple as that. CS6 is old.

There are hacks floating around to scale up the entire workspace, but they also scale up the image. So it gets blurry. What makes Photoshop a special case among software is that you need to scale up the UI but not the image. You still need the image to display 1:1, one image pixel represented by one screen pixel. CS6 does not support that.

4K support was added in one of the CC versions (can't recall which), and later improved in several ways. Today, with a current Photoshop version on a current Windows version, it is completely seamless.

I think I might.

As long as I get 4K sharpness for my images in CS, I think I would upgrade.

Thanks.
