Solid colour

I’m tying to take an object out of a photo and make it a solid image on a  transparent background. I can cut it out and put it onto A transparent background. But I can’t figure out how to make it a solid colour.

    First, lock the transparent area by clicking on this symbol:

                  

    Then, Edit > Fill -- Contents: Color. Choose a color. OK the color and OK the Fill.

    If you mean solid like a silhouette then right click on the layer and choose Blending Options.

    Check Color Overlay and click next to it to get the Color Overlay controls.

    Set opacity to 100% and choose your colour

    Another way:

    • choose your foreground color
    • [Strg]+click on the miniatur in the layers palette (the layer where your object is) creates a selection
    • press [Alt]+[Backspace] to fill the selection with your foreground color
