Hello ! After updating Photoshop CC 2017.1 I had such problem. I was making some visual at work. In the project there is some Vactor Smart Object layers. After saving my picture as png I saw that there some strange object appeared. I was thinking that maybe there is something wrong with VSO layers, so I opened them in Ai and there were no redundant objects on it. I've tryed to reopen project, to close photoshop. Nothing helped. I have same issue long time ago, but project was too comlex, but here's nothing special. Have any idea, what can it be ? I work in Photoshop on Mac OS.

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

Alas, that is no proper solution as it invalidates GPU dependent features (like the Rotate View Tool for example) but it indicates problems with the GPU driver or the OS.
