Something for the weekend - Part 108 - Brush up!

Thanks to all who took part in last weekend's scarecrow challenge.

Brushes are important tools in Photoshop and in art generally. I wonder though, what could you make out of a brush?

The “rules”:

  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

To download the image below at 1500 x 3500 pixels with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). The image is against a transparent background so there is no work for you in cutting it out.

When posting back your image – please use the Blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Nice idea to use the brush as curtains Jacob. 🙂

Ohhh . . .  is that Dave??

With PS Brushes and Layer Masks, that combo can reveal/hide so much.

I usually make my own.

Endless options there.

This was quickie.

Maybe I should name this “Dave’s Brush”

Hi Ged,

your work reminds me of Pierre Soulages (* 24. Dezember 1919). As a student I had many fruitless discussions and reflections about his art with my girlfriend a becoming art professor what these "outrenoir-images" would mean. But at least YOU used the right tool! 😉

Hah!  So we now have two professors posting to the Photoshop forum.  (Norman and Ged)

Ged, your image made me laugh out loud because of how clever it is.
