Spherical Panorama Performance Problems

What I'm trying to achieve - create a painted panoramic texture for a game, we have tried default 6 sided skybox in Unity, but the results are not satisfactory. Instead we want to use a spherical one for better results. However:

The performance is terrible to the point of being unusable - the most basic PS round brush lags. This happens if I'm paining in both the 2D and 3D views. I've restored PS, closed all other apps, changed the performance settings without any change. Even when painting in a normal A4, 300dpi document PS isn't great - for example: Clip Studio is installed on the same machine and works like a charm.

System - OSX Mojave, i7, 16GB DDR4 ram, SSD, Radeon Pro 560X. Wacom Cintiq Pro 16. Using the Most recent version of PS CC.

Still no luck with either version, I tried a fresh install of CC2019, and the Wacom drivers. Odd behaviour I've noticed when entering the 3D view is that the first stroke with the brush tool does not draw, but pans the view instead, subsequent strokes are drawn, but very slowly, and not accurately.

First I want to state I'm not a painter and my hands are 77 years old.  Painting in 3D mode on windows 10 CC 2019 is painful and not useable.  With CC 2018 the same is not true.  There is some lag but it not painful and I would not state its not accurate.   Zooming help.  On CC 2019 Because the lag is painful I would think that alone would make paint placement hard to do well.  The crude yellow 3D paint in this image is more to do with my 77 year  old hands than Photoshop,  The image is like 8000px by 4000px at 100%

Masking helps 77 year old hands

However the mask seems to be on the image window not the canvas do not move the 3d canvas

Thanks for taking the time to reply and help me out, I do appreciate it.

After exhausting our options we've decided not to use Photoshop for this job.

You did not state what version of Photoshop.  CC 2019 3d Spherical Panorama Paint lag is awful 2d No problem.  CC 2018 3d lag is not bad. However I use a slow old Dell Windows 10 workstation.   CC 2109 Also crashed on me.

It was indeed CC 2019, however the performance of 2018 isn't much better, and lacked pressure senstivity until I did this: Photoshop Pen pressure issue in Mac

    I've also had this happen:

I'll post again if I find a workaround.

Yes changes in Mojave effected pen support additional setting need to be made in Mac OS to enable Photoshop to use pen pressure it seems.
