Status bar updates only when saving, any fix?

Adobe Photoshop Version: 23.5.5 + Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.3 (Windows 10)

I have this problem both on Photoshop 2022 and 2023, even though I have the last updates.

Hello! First time posting, so I hope I'm doing it in the right place.

The status bar doesn't update my layer count unless I save the file. This is really bugging me, but I can't find a solution online.

I've seen posts where it was said that this bug was fixed in a previous version, but it didn't fix it for me.

Anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks!

@default1fvup2z6ff4y just tested and it's working fine for me with Photoshop version 24.3 on Windows 10.

Try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

@Ged_Traynor  thank you so much!! That actually fixed it!

To anyone else that might want to try this method: please export/save all your presets before resetting the preferences, I had to import my saved presets and brushes again.

@default1fvup2z6ff4y apologies, I should have mentioned you would lose your presets/settings, anyway glad you got it sorted.
