Sticky crop tool in photoshop

Question

I'm using the current version (v25.3.1) but I have been experiencing this issue for several updates hoping it would be resolved. The crop tool is sticking and won't release until I click the spot I want it to be. I used to be able to simply drag out one of the crop tool handles and when released it that was it then I could adjust if needed. Now it sticks to the cursor and won't release. I've noticed other "sticky" tool issues and hope there is a fix.

Any help is appreciated!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
