I got a small white square I can't get rid of. I can't even clone it away. Anybody know how to get rid of it?

Add a new layer directly above the background. Use the clone tool but set the sample (in the options bar) to 'current and below'. Then clone out the square on the new empty layer.

No, it's not working - and I tried remove tool and generative fill ... nothing.

But now I copied the image into a new file - and that worked ..!

Thanks for your answers Dave.

I remember this happening to me before, I can't remember exactly how I fixed it,I just remember that it wasn't something on the layers but rather a setting or tool I switched on by accident.

Sounds right.

Can you show your layers panel. The fact the square has a blue stroke around it suggests a shape layer rather than a GPU glitch.

It's on the background - I fear there's nothing to do. But I have never experienced it before ..
