Stroke in objects

I am having problems every time I change the color of an object, normally I could change it without problem, now it puts as default black stroke everytime I change the fill color of an object, even when the object had any color stroke assigned, it is tedious when you have to change colors for many objects and have an extra color change is time consuming. Anybody has the same problem? there is some preference that I need to re check or something else I am missing? please advise.
