Super slow smart object updating
I had to work in 16 bit color depth at least since I need to keep depth info within image files for CG purposes . And Photoshop updates/saves any hi-res enough 16 bit files so slowly it makes the whole "smart" non-destructive approach unusable. I sometimes wait up to 10 minutes looking on progress bar. Have recently tried Affinity Photo and it coupes with 16/32 bit "embedded" files so swiftly, almost instantly. You even don't have to save them to be updated in other documents there. And their vector tool supports 16 bit too.
I am so much tired of Photoshop so would not pay my subscription next year probably. Still I'd prefer to keep doing things old way in Photoshop and love usual image layers much more than nodes in 2d composers. Even with Photoshop crazy tricks to keep masks non-destructive.
But I am out of patience now. I really need a working non-destructive image editor/composer and Adobe keeps introducing irrelevant features . Photoshop seems so ancient dinosaur now and I am so unsatisfied customer. Please Adobe do something similar to Affinity Photo embedded files and dynamic expression based masks for instance. I don't want to leave. I love a lot of small features in Photoshop.
