Synching separate settings on old and new photoshop editions

Save out actions and brushes. Load them in the other version. You do this from the flyout menu in the panel.

Install the plugins from the original installer. Do not try to migrate.

Be prepared that the old version may not have specific functions called in the newer actions.

We used to be able to sync settings via a Preference option, but that is no longer available.

You can save them from each panel menu (top righht corner of panel, and import them in the new version.   I think this is the safest way.  If you check the file locations page then the folders like Actions are probably going to be empty unless you have exported them.

What I like to do is keep those assets in a My Documents folder, and place a shortcut to that folder location in the appropriate Photoshop file location.  This keeps those assets safe from update disasters, and makes it easier to sync between the release and beta versions.  The downside of this is that you need to repeat the process if you create new assets in Photoshop.  

It's a real pity that we can't sync all assets anymore.
