I create 100's of t-shirt designs using a csv spreadsheet and running a batch in Photoshop 2022. The text varies from 4 characters to 40 characters. How can I fill the same space with any size of text characters automatically?

Illustrator and InDesign both have features that could possibly help. Any chance you could incorporate them into your workflow?

Illustrator
The Fit Headline option within the Type menu auto adjusts the Tracking to have the text fill the line.

InDesign
A GREP Style can be applied within a Paragraph Style that applies different Character Styles (of differing sizes) depending upon the number of characters in the text.

By typing your text not as a paragraph text, but as point text and then transforming it to match the bounding box of the space.

I suppose an Action-work-around might be possible, but a Script seems like the better approach to me.
