Text characters change when exporting JPEG

This is super annoying. Here's what the text looks like when editing in Photoshop:

 

Here is what the exported JPEG file looks like:

 

Notice how the words "Per Hour" line has changed. It's both italicized and there are special characters rendered where there were none. 

 

I've tried resetting the type tool, reinstalling the font (Cabin from Google Fonts), looking through all the type settings and cannot figure it out. Please help!

 

I'm on the latest version of MacOS and Creative Cloud.

Try it with a standard typeface and see if that works. The issue may be with the Google Font itself. Let us know.

What process are you using to export the JPEG?

Can you provide a full screen shot of Photoshop, including all panels, with the text layer selected and the type tool active, and the text selected (the text that says "$15-22 Per Hour").
