Text writing error

Just tried writing text on to a graphic I've created in Photoshop cc2020 and find that special characters, i.e. ? ! $, etc, attach themselves to the beginning of the text line instead of the end. As an example: '?How are you' instead of 'How are you?' All characters seem to be effected in this way. Any ideas?

Just playing with it and discovered that it's forcing a right to left character direction instead of left to right . I can change this by going into language options snd clicking left to right but it reverts back every time. Needs fixing!
