The Grey In My PDF Changes When Opened In Photoshop

Hi,

I have saved a logo design from Illustrator as a PDF in RGB colour mode. I am trying to place it into a mockup in Photoshop which I have made sure is in RGB colour mode, however the light grey that I have used changes to a very dark grey for some reason. All other colours are fine.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Thanks,

Andy

Check to be sure the Illustrator File>Document Color Mode is RGB. Also confirm that both the source Illustrator and the destination Photoshop doc’s assigned RGB profiles match—Edit>Assign Profile. And, finally make sure your PDF export did not convert the color—use the default PDF/X-4 preset.

You are right. You can also edit the PDF Exporting setting but to deal with the main problem, you need to use the right colors.

In Illustrator, Check the black color to see if it is Just BLACK or Rich BLACK C:100 M:100 Y:100 K:100 or RGB 255 All.

The black in Illustrator comes up as R:29 G:29 B:27

    Sorry I meant RGB 0:0:0
make it R:0 G:0 B:0 to get the rich black in RGB
