Question

The new rotate object tool is not working for me.

I using Windows 11, have 27.6 installed, have all my drivers updated, am using 8-bit images, rasterized the layer and removed the background first too, but whenever I try to use the rotate object tool all I get is a blank image. I also reset prefs and even reinstalled Photoshop. Still just a blank result and can't rotate my object. Is this just a bug that they haven't quite figured out yet? I'd feel better if it is just a bug and not my computer. lol Thanks!

I think I found your banana, jt. I was able to create a document, run Edit>Rotate Object, then rotate the banana. I can’t record the screen because Adobe launches a pop-up advert for three plans -- $99-199/month -- to up my credits!

[I’d check my credit balance, but CC>Generative Balance has refused to display the balance (“unable to load section, Retry”) for days.

editing to add: canceling out of the ad stops the rotate object, so I feel extorted to upgrade.

I created a new document first, then put the banana layer on top of that layer, then edit>rotate object and still got the same result; a blank smart object layer on top. I’m about to give up, Lamy. lol Appreciate your help tho!!!😎

P.S. Below is another screenshot showing my

layers panel. The top layer is a blank smart object.

jt,try it on the original file -- don’t rasterize, don’t remove background. Edit>Rotate Object will find the subject, place it on a new layer and remove the background. That’s when the rotate dialog will appear on the new layer. This should work for you unless you are trying to rotate something other than the subject.

Thanks for the reply, Lamy. Tried what you said and unfortunately still the same result: a blank.😭 I attached a screenshot of what.happens below. When i go through the process, it creates a smart object layer above that’s blank. My photo was a simple banana against a white background and i did not remove the background or rasterize. This is driving me crazy. lol😟😂
