The options in Photoshop, to smooth out the color transition between 2 neighboring colors

Hi,

 

What are my options to smooth out 2 neighbouring colors as in the image below. That is making the transition from one to another more gradual.

For that image, since there is no real detail, I would just use gaussian blur.
