The ruler tool only display the horizontal ruler but not the vertical

When I open the view menu ruler tool, only the horizontal ruler shows but not the vertical ruler. I used to have both rulers but not anymore, is there a way to get the vertical ruler back?

You can't hide only one of the two rulers, so I also suspect that the vertical ruler is hidden by a panel, or that you are working witth floating windows. We can't tell without screen shot.

 

You might try

  1. Resetting your workspace—Window > Workspace > Reset XXX (where XXX=the one you are using) and/or
  2. Window > Arrange > Consolidate All to Tabs to redock your document window

    Most likely your Toolbar is sitting on top of the ruler. You can reset your workspace from the Window menu > Workspace or drag the Toolbar into the drop zone. If that's not it, show a screen shot. Your image window could also be sitting on top of it.
