Question

The Shift is not working for normal in Photoshop

When I'm using a Wacom tablet in Photoshop, I encounter a strange issue with the brush tool and the Shift key. Normally, holding down Shift should allow me to draw a straight line from the point where I start holding Shift. However, in my case, every time I press Shift, the brush stroke jumps back to the initial point of my first brush stroke and draws a straight line from that position, instead of from where I press Shift.

This behavior occurs regardless of when or where I press Shift while drawing. The brush seems to return to the original axis of the first stroke, and it automatically draws a straight line from there.

I've tried different methods to resolve this issue, but nothing seems to work. Could this be a software bug or some conflict between the Wacom tablet and Photoshop? And is there a way to prevent this behavior?

@ruofan_4519 it's working as expected for me with my Wacom tablet using Photoshop version 25.12 on Windows 11, try resetting the tools

If that doesn't help, try manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset
