Question

The Topaz AI denoising filter never finishes the job.

I am experiencing the same issue! It was working fine yesterday then out of the blue, just stopped working. Won’t complete an upscale on Lightroom, or Photoshop.

Mac is updated, all Adobe products updated, 48gb of RAM and plenty of disc space.

I’ve not experiended the same issue. There are a few things you could try. See this article from Topaz:

That’s not exactly the error I get. Filter > AI Sharpen >  Topaz model initializes, but does not complete. I did go over the Topaz troubleshooting list but I am referring to this feature included in PhotoShop not the purchased plug-in: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/desktop/effects-filters/artistic-stylize-filters/enhance-images-with-generative-ai-filters.html

It could be a GPU driver issue. In Preferences Performance try turning on or off Use Graphics Processor.

For the past few days, the AI Sharpen and AI Denoise Topaz partner models are not working.

The progress bar slows down 75% of the way through, then crawls at a snail’s pace and when it gets to the very end, stalls for what seems like 3 minutes before the brown box error box with either “...cannot complete task at this time” or “Topaz Service is unavailable” and “Please try again later.” pops up for 15 seconds.

I am working on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, Sonoma 14.8.4, PhotoShop 27.4. I have tried toggling GPU, signing in and out, various complexities of images, and I have plenty of credits. Anyone experiencing similar?

Hey, @Dalt. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I reviewed the account you used to log in, and I found an active subscription. Some plans will only allow limited access to Premium Features.

Does this happen with specific Generative AI tools such as Topaz? Please check if Generative Fill and Expand, or any Standard features, work as expected. Please head here to learn more: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/apps/generative-ai/generative-credits-faq.html#standard-and-premium-generative-ai-features

    Thanks!

    @Sameer K

    Bonjour,

C'est le seul outil qui pose problème. Tous les autres outils fonctionnent parfaitement 😉

    L'opération fonctionnait parfaitement avant.

    Hi @Dalt,

Thank you for confirming that this is the only tool affected and that it previously worked as expected.

Based on the behavior and the error message, this typically indicates that Photoshop cannot locate or properly load the required AI Denoise models.

Please try the following steps carefully:

    • Close Photoshop completely
    • Update Photoshop to 27.4
    • Update Camera Raw to 18.2

Then delete the ModelZoo folders from these locations:

    On macOS:

    • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw

    • ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw

    On Windows:

    • C:\Users<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\

    • C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\

Please make sure to delete the ModelZoo folder (and its contents) from those paths.

    After that:

    • Restart Photoshop

    • Run the Denoise filter again

If the issue persists after that, please share the sample file and copy & paste the system info in the PS help menu. Also, screen record the issue, upload it to Google Drive or a similar service, and share the link here or via DM privately.

We will then escalate it to the product team for further investigation.

    Regards,

    Anshul Saini
