tiff g4 format

A customer requires us to supply all our technical manual illustrations in tiff g4 format. Does anyone have recommendations of tools to do this? Photoshop does not appear to export to that format.

Thanks,

Ethan

Gimp can open/export the tiff g4 format.

Thank-you. That does work. The steps are a little complicated, but once I get more familiar with GIMP it will go more quickly. I'll see if I can convert multiple files at once.

Be aware it is a 1-bit format. True black and white; colour and shades of grey impossible. So you probably need to convert to image > mode > bitmap in Photoshop, which offers excellent control, and then use a converter. Also establish from the customer what halftone info to use if you are converting any greys.

Thanks, yes, most of these are line sketches converted from Illustrator. But I'll keep the halftone in mind too.

Try download.cnet.com and search for a tiff converter.
