Too many new versions of Photoshop, My system is going in circles [Mac]

I can't keep track and have no idea how to get rid of this 'Beta' version of Photoshop that keeps trying to pop up. Everything is up to date but there are two versions of photoshop that are fighting to be in control of my workflow. One says version 25.0 and the other says version 24.something I can't find it right now. It's the version 24.something that was running fine until a recent update for Photoshop installed a version 24.something, I'm busy and didn't keep track and trust the Adobe Cloud to keep track of what it is feeding me. Right now, I need help because when I am in Lightroom and right click on the image I want to edit in Photoshop I get a Photoshop warning message that warns me that I'm about to open my image in Photoshop. Why warn me? This is what I want. I don't want a warning and want to get rid of that. Too much fussing interrupting my work flow. How do I stop the warnings and version and just get back to simply using Photoshop?

Correct answer Ken Nielsen

Finding out if you have more than one Photoshop version installed is very easy. Just open your CC desktop app. If you have the beta installed, it will show here:

I have been able to clarify now: Photoshop Beta was taking preference on my system as the version of Photoshop that would become active when I selected "Edit in..., Photoshop" when right-clicking to select from Lightroom. I uninstalled everything, both versions of Photoshop and also Lightroom. To get off to a fresh clean start I then installed just Photoshop 2024 and Lightroom and worked with them as the team I wanted for the next few days just to be sure everything was back to normal. THEN, I installed Photoshop Beta with a mind to keep the two versions of Photoshop separate... and that is how to avoid entanglements and problems. From what I understand, Adobe will marry the new features from Beta into Photoshop at some point in the future. All is well and running smoothly at the Nielsen Studios now. Thank you everyone for taking the time to offer valuable feedback and putting up with the mess I am able to create sometimes.

Ken, I have a feeling that Photoshop works differently on the Mac OS, in that you can have two versions open at the same time.  I wonder if that complicates things for you?   If this was Windows I'd right click one of the problem file formats, and use Open With and click on Always use this option.  Mac systems surely have something like this?

Or is this happening from Lightroom or Bridge?  I don't use Lightroom, but I am a boig fan of Bridge, and can tell you that you'd need to edit file formats from Bridge options if it was being problematic.  Havinf said that, I just checked and the beta version is not showing as an option, but it seems likely that if I chose Browse I could find and select Photoshop_beta.exe

Thank you for this insight. I would love to find a way to exclude 'Beta' from my workflow. I don't see it installed which is even more mysterious, I thought I had sucessfully deleted it after intalling and looking at it wondering what it was. It's been back and forth now for over two weeks with this and every time I try to delete and reinstall Photoshop it seems to get more ingrained into having two versions, even though I only see one version running, it is the wrong version I think. It's a mess to say the least.
