Two new gpu settings grayed out PS CC 2020

These two options are grayed out and I cant find any info on them,
Preferences->Performance->Advanced Graphics settings
"Use native operating system GPU Acceleration"
"Use updated GPU canvas"

Are these at all accessible, if so why isnt this documented anywhere and how do we enable these features? I'm interested in any further gpu acceleration upgrades so this something that could be useful for me.

Hi All,

This issue should be fixed in Photoshop February 2020 (version 21.1.0) release.

Please update to the latest version from the Creative Cloud desktop app. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html#photoshop-desktop-fixed-issues

Thanks,

Akash

You are adding your problem into a 7 month old post that is marked as answered. Far better to post your own problem. Advise that you do so, After you do, add a reply in this post including a link to your new post to direct pmemers to it.

In your own post include:

1. Initial post, include:

1a Useful description

1b Conrext of your problem

1c Note that you will provide System Info in following posts (best to keep that seperate as to keep initial post from being very long)

2. In Reply to own post paste in System Information as Lightroom Classic reports it. In Lightroom Classic, /Help/System Info/Copy/.  Include all info from first line diwn to and including plug-in info.

3. In another reply, include some System Info from Photoshop, on that one interested in product name and version, as reported by Photoshop, so not as much as taken from Lightroom Classic

4. And in another reply, state your workflow. Include screenshots that might be helpfull.

Note: you might want to prep these postings in say a word processor, or just a notepad before posting as to make it easy to post each one quickly.

Note, DO NOT use the attachment button, it does not work very well.

Not all GPU's are capable

read: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

and: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/kb/acr-gpu-faq.html

Would suspect something newer versions of these documents are coming

Thanks for the post david but this doesnt answer this question.

in the GPU FAQ from adobe they dont even list the options I am referring to:

  1. Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation: Enable to improve the interactivity of Warp and Puppet Warp previews
  2. Use OpenCL: Enable to accelerate the new Blur Gallery filters, Smart Sharpen, Select Focus Area, or Image Size with Preserve Details selected (Note: OpenCL is available only on newer graphics cards that support OpenCL v1.1 or later.)
  3. Anti-alias Guides and Paths: Allows the graphics processor to smooth the edges of drawn guides and paths
  4. 30-bit Display (Windows® only): Allows Photoshop to display 30-bit data directly to screen on video cards that support it

The attatched image refers to the settings that I am talking about that isn't it the FAQ

I am inclined to think that the settings are for a future addition since the pop up text for the updated GPU canvas talks about having a MantaCanvas pre-release flag, and a quick google search will show you that there isnt much information on the matter. If this is the case I dont know why they'd leave the option visible.
