Type Options: A Sudden Change in Middle Eastern vs. East Asian Options (Digits)

I am uncertain if this is a bug, so I'd prefer to post this question to the discussion group before escalating it. I have very suddenly experienced a shift in Type properties or options specifically when writing or pasting digits, e.g., CMYK or RGB values, phone numbers, etc. For instance, 555-1212 will come out as 1212-555.  After doing some reading online, someone suggested changing the Middle Eastern Features to LTR Arabic from Hindi. But I am trying to figure out why this is suddenly a thing in the first place?! Any thoughts? The suggestion worked, but I cannot recall ever having to make this change before - ever! Is it a particular font thing? I was using Avenier.  I'd love some insight.

One main factor of having the text to behave diffirent in a given document is that other text brought-in from another source ie. you copy text from the web or another file, then paste it into your document, thus brining in text settings from the other file. Did you consider that?

Type->Language Options is where to start. It sounds like incorrect Character Direction is set.

This is what is set as of this writing. Additionally, my visit to this option is my first, so again, how does this option change without me changing it?

Isn't Arabic written right to left?

Sorry, I meant to include some specifics. I am using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and Adobe Photoshop v. 25.11.0
