i just updated my photoshop cc to the newest version and when i type, it refuses to go onto a new line when i press enter/return, and even when i draw out a box so the text HAS to go on a new line, it won't still.

i don't know how to fix this and it's very frustrating.

please help?

No worries! The default when you upgrade is to remove the old version and migrate the old settings—and I think the old setting migration is causing issues with the various applications. I'm seeing it in Photoshop and also in InDesign. If you remember next time, when you upgrade to CC 2019 (or whatever it ends up being called) you might want to choose Advanced and deselect both options. I think that will cause less headaches in the long run, and once you know the new version is working, you can always uninstall the old one with the CC desktop app.
