Unable to access previous edits in Camera Raw Filter. How do you access later?

I'm able to adjust a layer using Camera Raw Filter.  But once I save the edits and return to Photoshop I'm no longer able to access those edits to make further changes.  How can previous edits be saved AND be accessible in future?

Only speculating, but right clicking the layer and doing 'Convert to Smart Object' before using the Camera Raw filter should give you a layer that can be edited again later.

"AND be accessible in future?"

Double click on Camera Raw Filter below Smart Object layer to reopen ACR window with pre-loaded previous adjustments.

Thanks for reply.  That's the problem - after making the edits in Camera Raw, there is no visible layer that I can access again (in future) as shown in your image.  The changes are visible in the image, but I can't go back and adjust those edits in Camera Raw.  I used to be able to, but something changed in a recent update it seems.  Or am I missing something.

Someone above pointed me straight - I needed to convert to smart object first.  Strangely, I never had to do that before, but I just need to do that going forward.

Camera Raw used as a Filter burns the edits into the layer. It isn't like using ACR on a raw. So yeah, a Smart Object would be one way to avoid the burning of the edits, by design when using ACR this way on rendered data.
