Unable to add text to a path- Photoshop CC 2019 {Renamed by moderator}

I am using CC 2019. I am unable to add text to a path. I have been able to do this in other versions of Photoshop for years. Is there a change in the way this is done now?

    I am using Windows 10

    It is an open path

    It was showing the correct cursor for text on path but only showing the

    first letter.

    With that said, I think the problem was in the justification. I have reset

    to left aligned and it is working OK now. This was a case of Aggravated

    Idiot User. Thank you for your quick response.

    Hi Carol,

    Typing on a path does work on an open path, as it always has.

    How did you create the path?

    One common issue is a type size that is too big. Reset the type tool, but not while you are on a layer that currently has type.

    Can you post a screen shot of what is happening? Include the Layer and Paths panels with what you have so far.

    With the curvature pen tool It was my error - I had the alignment wrong

    Hi Carol,

    That shouldn't be happening, let us help make this right. As you're not able to add text to a path, could you please let us know the operating system you're using?

    Would you mind checking if the path is fully closed or not? Because typing will not work if the path is not fully closed.

    Is the cursor changing before you start typing. If you want the text along the path, hover the cursor until it looks like below and then click to type
