Unable to continue because of hardware or system error.

My Photoshop 6.0 (on Windows) stopped working 5 days ago. Trying to reset, but get message:

"Unable to continue because of hardware or system error. This error is unrecoverable."

I keep seeing references to PS 2021 and 2022, have I mised something?
