Question

Unable to edit in PS as Layers from Lightroom

I primarily do all editing on my Imac but recently had the need to use the laptop (Macair). I had 3 images tweaked in LR and when selecting edit in Photoshop as layers, It takes me to the photoshop splash screen to import an image, Learn, or start a new project versus importing all three as requested.  I cannot seem to get by this and although it's a rare occasion to use the laptop for editing, it's become a mission in life to try and figure out why the laptop is not acting the same as the desktop. Thanks for any help you can provide

Ok, my problem is fixed (or at least the edit as layers problem). On the Laptop, I disabled the home screen in PS which allowed me to get past it when in LR and selecting "Edit in PS as layers". Initially, I thought I was having a second issue because the options to "Edit in" were grayed out and not selectable. That issue turned out to be, I was trying to select images that were on a network drive and had not properly authorized (or signed in) to the network to physically alter those images. They still appeared because of the last import and backup but had a (?) next to it so it wasn't accessible to edit.

I've seen a few other people posting this morning about issues from the latest versions of LR to PS not working correctly with "Edit in Photoshop". I don't think I've seen an Edit in Photoshop as Layers specifically, but similar comments have been posted. Possibly a bug. Many of us are trying to recreate now.

What versions of the apps are you using?

Using Creative Cloud so it all up to date. Just an odd issue

See this thread :

Can't export photos from Lightroom to Photoshop for editing anymore...

In particular the link to a bug report in post 13 which you may want to read and "me too"
