Unable to open PS 23.3.2 directly from Dock

Clicking PS icon in OSX Catalina Dock or from Icon or Open button in Creative Cloud 'window' fails to open Photoshop.

However if I am in LrC and send an image to be edited in Photoshop - it opens fine .

Any help/advice much appreciated please.

TIA

Peter

Removed the icon from the dock, double clicked on PS 2022 in Apps folder, updated icon appeared in dock BUT failed to load....bouncing up and down without the program opening unfortunately.

Sounds like you either have more than one version of one that isn't fully installed. Use the Creative Cloud application to update the latest version. You may have to do an Uninstall first (Keep preferences when asked), then a clean Install from this application.

Drag and drop the dock icon away (to disappear). Go into the Application folder, double click on Photoshop to launch. Now you should see the updated icon on the Dock. Move it into the position where you want it; should work now.

The icons in the Dock are Aliases and go to a specific version of the application. If it's uninstalled, it can't work anymore.

If you launch Photoshop (from the Applications folder, the Creative Cloud App, or Spotlight), you'll see the icon, but it will disappear when the application is closed.

To keep the icon in the Dock whether or not the application is open, use the shortcut menu (right-click) or drag it to a new spot as per Digital Dog's instructions.

Thanks jane-e - much appreciated. As above but launching from the Applicatiosn folder, Creative Cloud app both resulted in the icon appearing but bouncing. Doing it via Spotlight brough up a dialog box saying it was Verifying Photoshop app. but then error appreared saying '

Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please re-install the application'

Does that mean launching the Uninstall Adobe Photosop 2022 app from within the Adobe folder in Apps and if so - how would I go about re-installing it please?
