Using Eyedrop Tool selects the desired colour but it doesn't change it on the colour palette.

I recently encountered a possible lag with the eyedropper tool. In the attached video I use the tool and when I drag and hover with the mouse around, it does pick up the colours but if you look at the right-hand side it doesn't change/update the colour in the actual colour wheel/palette. It's as if the link was lost between the two.

It's quite frustrating as I need the eyedropper tool for drawing to create seamless transitions. Has anybody encountered this issue?

I have already looked everywhere but couldn't seem to find an answer. The only question that seemed similar was this one: HERE which suggests disabling the native canvas but in the technology previews, I did not have such an option (see attached screenshot). I also did reset the preferences. The only thing I haven't done yet was to re-install the app.
