Using Generative fill to remove an subject from an image

I am a camera club member and we have a ban on AI enhancement of an image for competitions.  However we recently had a discussion on using Gen Fill to remove objects from an image (gen fill with no entry in the dialogue box).

The unknown is where do the pixels come from, If they are from within the image but replaced by AI then we think that would be the same as cloning, and hence OK.  If the pixels come from the cloud and the AI libarary then that would be against our comp rules.

Anyone know how this works.

Regards

John

@John32616659xsd1 Generative Fill is AI even if you use it to remove parts of an image. The result is coming from the AI.

This is NOT the same as cloning and is banned by most photo competitions.
