Using Pen Tool to remove background

Hi All,

Downloaded Photoshop 2020 and was trying to use the pen tool to remove the background from a picture (see below). However, when I make the selection and create a mask, the entire photo becomes transparent (see below). Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Instead of masking a selection and a layer mask, try Layer > Vector Mask > Current Path.

Lambiloon,

Thank you, my friend. That seemed to solve it. I was clicking the selection button on the top bar, but when I made the selection from the Path option, it worked just fine (as in the video). Thank you, my friend!
