Question

Using shapes has changed in the latest update

Hi

I just updated to Photoshop 21.1, operating system is 10.13.6.

I use shapes for masks a lot and I can't work out how to combine and subtrate in shapes anymore. In the past I could copy and paste onto another shape and then choose whether I add, subtract etc. I've worked out how to create a mask from a simple shape, hold down command and move to the layer you are masking.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I can understand your problem correctly then try to reset preferences because everything works just fine for me.

What is actual problem? Options grayed out or options does not deliver expected result? Do you have path selected when trying Path operations options from the Options bar?

Hi Bojan

OK think I've worked it out. I did reset my preferences but it wasn't that in the end. It was all about how I was highlighting the layers. It works now PHEW!!

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it. Your attached image made me look at how I was highlighting layers so it was very useful.

Cheers!
